These are some of the common questions we have. Hope we cover most of your questions and we shall update with new ones as they come along. There are a few more that I am planning to put on but please give me time
1 DO I NEED TO BRING ANY MODELLING ITEMS (EG TRANSMITER, CHARGER, CRYSTALS ETC) ??
There is no need to bring anything as we provide all you need to fly.
2 WHAT MODE DO WE FLY ??
All our models can be flown on any mode (1,2,3,4)
3 WHAT FREQUENCY DO WE USE ??
The official frequency in Greece for air modeling is 35MHZ.
4 I WANT TO BRING MY OWN MODEL. WHAT FREQUENCY SHALL I USE. ??
We ‘ll try to allocate a frequency solely so that you can use during your stay without having to worry about a frequency clash. We advise to contact us in advance so we can let you know available frequencies that are not used for our fleet models.
5 DO I BOOK THE FLYING PACKAGE I WANT, IN ADVANCE ??
There is no need to book in advance. We recommend that you decide what you want to do when come over here.
6 DO WE FLY ALL DAY ??
We have a break in the afternoon between 13:00 ish up to 17:00 ish depending on the time of the year. This allows us to charge the models and also give the instructors time for lunch break. Also do not forget the swimming pool dip.
7 WHAT MODELS ARE AVAILABLE ??
We try to keep a large variety of models (high & low wing trainers, sports aerobatics, semi scale, gliders, fun fly, electrics etc. ) Our helicopters are Raptor 30 & 50. The fleet is changing by the day as the ones that have been before know. We do our best to keep the fleet at its best condition and also try to introduce new models as often as we can.
8 DO I NEED TO BRING ANY CERTIFICATE FOR PROOF OF MY FLYING SKILLS ??
No, we ‘ll fly with you when you come over for an introduction flight, using the buddy box system and we shall provide help or tuition if needed. Many times a certificate or lack of it does not represent a modelers flying skills.
9 WHAT HAPPENS IF I CRASH A MODEL ??
We have introduced our own insurance scheme which will cover you if you crash a model. The main reason for this is to make our guests feel more comfortable flying in a different environment somebody else’s models. The cost of the insurance is 100 euros. This will cover you if you crash a model and make it not operational. If it can be fixed you are welcome to fix it using our facilities. If there is no claim by the end of your holiday there is a refund of 70 euros.
10 I AM A MEMBER OF BMFA. AM I INSURED TO FLY IN GREECE ??
Your BMFA insurance covers members in Greece.
11 WHAT IF THE TAXI DRIVER IS NOT THERE TO PICK US UP FROM THE AIRPORT ?
If for some reason there is no one waiting please do not hesitate to call me on my mobile 00306932420044 regardless of the time.
12 WILL THE OTHER HALF ...... ENJOY IT ????
This is a holiday aimed at modellers and their families.
Flying is a big part of it but not all of it. We try to make the rest of our
guests enjoy it as much. We regular trips (nearly every day) to various places.
Most of our trips ar organized in such a way that the modeller does some flying
in the morning, then go for a trip or a dip in the pool and then have some more
flying. This way you can combine the flying activities with sightseeing
and relaxing. The best way to find out about the RChotel operation is to join
the forum through our web page and ask the rest of the guests that have been
before.
13 HOW DO I PAY ??
We require a deposit of 100 euros per room to confirm the booking. You can pay the remainder when you get here. Payment can be made by Euros, British pounds , travellers cheques or credit cards. If you pay by credit card we have to add a 3% bank transaction charge. The best way for UK customers is to pay with British pounds as the exchange rate is usually better in Greece than in the UK.
14 HOW DO I BOOK ??
Just send us the dates you would like to visit us and we shall check for availability. Then we can make a provisional booking so you can go ahead and book the flights. If you need any help with the flights please let us know.
